Want to Support to the Gathering?

We are holding this ceremony for the ancestors who rest at the Straits and for the generations yet to come. This work is carried by community, with no outside sponsors or institutions behind it. If you are able, we invite you to support in whatever way you can—by giving your time to help with fires, food, or setup, or by making a financial contribution toward firewood, meals, and other ceremonial needs. Every act of support, whether time or resources, helps carry these prayers and ensures that all who come are cared for. Miigwech for standing with us in this way.

Calling All Fire Keepers!

As we prepare for our Four-Day Ceremony at the Straits, we are reaching out for helpers who feel called to tend the sacred fires. Two fires will be lit — one on the north shore (Straits State Park) and one on the south shore (Wilderness State Park) — and they will be kept burning continuously from sunrise on Thursday, October 2nd through noon on Sunday, October 5th, 2025.

The fire is the heart of our gathering. It carries our prayers, our songs, our offerings for the ancestors and for the generations yet to come. Keeping it fed, safe, and steady is a sacred responsibility.

We are inviting firekeepers to offer their hands and hearts in shifts, whether for a few hours in the day or through the night. Experienced firekeepers are welcome, and those who are newer but feel called will also be supported.
